We are reintroducing a Christmas Shoe Box collection this year, specifically for the mother and child refuge in Ukraine, supported by 4-Ukraine Humanitarian Aid

These will need to be ready by mid-November to be able to be included in the delivery due to be taken out at the end of that month.

Boxes should be marked whether they are suitable for boys, girls or binary, and suitable items include :

Toiletries of all types - soap, shampoos, conditioners.

Sweets if possible.

Hair ties etc

Girl specific items.

Boy specific items.

Any kinds of little treats for kids always much appreciated.

Danbury Christmas Tree Lighting and Carols

Christmas tree lighting and carols at Eve's Corner, followed by mince pies at Danbury Leisure Centre, where the D&V Santa Sleigh will also be waiting.

Danbury & Villages Rotary Club have this year kindly been donated a Santa Sleigh by Heybridge & Blackwater Rotary Club, following their unfortunate closure.

The Club has decided that for this year as a learning curve, they would follow the Heybridge routes used previously and have pledged that at least 50% of the profits raised will be donated to needy causes in that area.

The dates which are currently being worked to for the Heybridge area are :

8th, 12th, 15th and 17th December 2026.

Routes and further details are to be announced in due course.

We are very grateful for the support that has been given to this project, now in its 3rd year, by the donation of unwanted bikes for renovation and reuse. Bikes allow needy people to get to school, college or work.

We are pleased to report that some recipients have volunteered to help with the servicing and renovation of donated bikes, which is not only of great assistance, but also allows them to learn new skills in the process.

We are very thankful for the very kind support this project has received since this illegal war started.

The vans used for these shipments take a lot of punishment and two of the three are still off the road. The cost of the repairs required is estimated at £2,500, and each round trip costs about £5,000. If you wish to donate towards this cause, please scan the QR code above.

We are currently storing donated items until the shipments to Ukraine can start again.

4-UKRAINE Humanitarian Aid, established in May 2022, is a non-profit organisation based in the UK, focused primarily on the collection and delivery of humanitarian aid to benefit the children and people of Ukraine. 

They support those injured in the war, and also a refuge that caters for war widows and orphans and those who have suffered domestic abuse.

They also accept clean clothing (preferably NEW) and especially warm clothing for the coming winter which can reach temperatures of -25 degrees C.

Any money donations made for the refuge are sent directly to them to allow them to buy food and other items locally, which is followed up with a photo report and receipts confirming the items purchased.

(6 of which were very large),
